Created in LA Privacy Policy
Overview
Welcome. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information or personal data (“Personal Information”) Created Books LLC (which does business as “Created in LA,” “we,” or “us”) gathers from you, how we use and disclose that information, and what we do to protect it, in connection with the Created in LA event (the “Event”) and the created.la website (the “Site,” together with the Event and application process, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and is subject to the Created in LA Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”). This policy does not apply to the practices of companies we don’t own or control — including Luma, the third-party platform we use to process applications and ticketing, and our Event sponsors and partners (currently including Disney, YouTube, OpusClip, Later, Adobe, ManyChat, and .Store Domains). Each of those companies has its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them before applying or attending.
The Services are intended for use by adults 18 years of age or older and are not directed to individuals under 18. If you are under 18, please do not apply, attend, or provide us with Personal Information.
By applying to or attending the Event, or otherwise providing Personal Information, you represent that you are 18 or older and consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.
How Created in LA Collects Information About You
Application Information. When you apply to attend via Luma (lu.ma/createdla), you provide information such as your name, email address, social media handles and follower/audience details, professional role (creator, editor, manager, platform partner, etc.), and your responses to application questions. Luma processes this on our behalf and is also an independent data controller for its own platform — see Luma’s privacy policy for how it separately handles your information.
Ticketing and Payment Information. As part of your application, you provide payment card information through Luma, our ticketing and payment processor. Your card is not charged at the time you apply — it is only charged if and when your application is accepted. If your application is declined, your card is not charged. Created in LA does not directly collect, process, or store your full payment card information; it is handled entirely within Luma’s PCI-compliant systems, and we retain only limited transaction records (e.g., that a charge occurred, the amount, and the last four digits of your card) as needed for our own accounting.
Identification for Venue Access. Because Day 2 of the Event takes place at The Walt Disney Studios Lot, accepted attendees are required to present a government-issued ID or driver’s license to Disney security on-site for lot access and security clearance. Disney collects and handles this ID information directly, in person, as the venue operator responsible for lot security — Created in LA does not collect or store your ID information ourselves, and it is governed by Disney’s own privacy and security practices rather than this Policy.
Cookies and Automatically Collected Information. When you use the Site, we (and our website platform, Webflow) may automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, and visit dates/times, using cookies, clear gifs, or similar technology.
Communications. If you email us directly (e.g., jon@youshaei.com or amanda@youshaei.com) with questions, we retain that correspondence to respond to you and for our records.
Information from Other Sources. We may receive information about you from Luma, Disney’s venue/security team, or other Event partners, in connection with your application, acceptance, or attendance.

In the Event of a Merger or Sale
If Created Books LLC or its assets are acquired by or merged with a third party, we reserve the right to transfer the Personal Information we’ve collected in connection with that transaction.
Your Rights and Choices
You may decline to provide certain Personal Information, in which case we may not be able to process your application or grant venue access. You may contact us to update, correct, or request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements (including venue security records).
Subject to applicable law (particularly if you are in the EU or UK), you may have the right to access, correct, or request erasure of your Personal Information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us at the email below to exercise these rights.
International Visitors and Applicants
The Site is hosted in the United States, and applications are processed by Luma, a U.S. company. If you apply or attend from outside the United States, your Personal Information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Confidentiality and Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your Personal Information, including limiting access to attendee and ID information to those who need it to run the Event or process venue security clearance. Payment information is never handled by us directly — it stays within Luma’s PCI-compliant systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention
We retain application and attendee information for as long as needed to run the Event and for a reasonable period afterward for records, follow-up, and legal purposes. We do not hold government ID/driver’s license information — that is collected and retained by Disney directly under its own security and retention practices.
Changes and Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be posted on the Site with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
