Terms & Conditions

Created in LA

This website (the “Site”) and the Created in LA event (the “Event”) are owned and operated by Created Books LLC (d/b/a “Created in LA,” together with our affiliates, “Created in LA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

BY APPLYING TO, PURCHASING A TICKET FOR, OR ATTENDING THE EVENT, OR BY USING THE SITE, YOU ARE ACCEPTING THE PRACTICES DESCRIBED IN THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“AGREEMENT”). WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MODIFY OR AMEND THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT FROM TIME TO TIME. YOUR CONTINUED USE OF THE SITE OR ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT FOLLOWING THE POSTING OF CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT WILL MEAN YOU ACCEPT THOSE CHANGES.

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY, AS THEY FORM A BINDING AGREEMENT.

WHO WE ARE

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Created in LA — a two-day event for creators, presented by Disney, taking place September 17 & 18, 2026 at the El Capitan Theatre and The Walt Disney Studios Lot in Los Angeles.

Created in LA provides an in-person event experience (the “Services”) through: (i) the created.la website, (ii) our application and ticketing partner, Luma (lu.ma/createdla), and (iii) the Event itself, including any related sessions, receptions, red carpet premiere, and content produced in connection with it.

By applying to attend, purchasing a ticket, attending the Event, or visiting or using the Site, you (the “user” or “you”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you do not have permission to apply for, purchase, or attend the Event.

OTHER APPLICABLE TERMS

These Terms incorporate the following:

  • Our Privacy Policy, available on the Site, which describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information, and how our application/ticketing partner Luma and Event partners (including Disney and our sponsors) may separately handle your information.
  • Luma’s own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which govern the application and payment process you complete through Luma.
  • Any special terms, waivers, or releases presented to you at check-in or on-site, including any additional forms required by Disney for Studios Lot access, which are incorporated into these Terms by this reference. In the event of any conflict, those on-site terms will govern with respect to venue access and security.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may amend these Terms at any time. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify accepted attendees (e.g., by email). Continued use of the Site or attendance at the Event after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for, purchase a ticket to, or attend the Event. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are at least 18 years of age; (b) the information in your application is truthful and accurate; (c) you have not previously been removed from or denied entry to a Created in LA event; and (d) your application and attendance will comply with all applicable laws. We may, in our sole discretion, decline any application or refuse entry to any person, and may change eligibility criteria at any time.

APPLICATION, ACCEPTANCE, AND TICKET PURCHASE

Applications are submitted through Luma (lu.ma/createdla) and reviewed by Created in LA on a rolling basis. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance or a seat at the Event.

Payment. As part of your application, you provide payment card information through Luma. Your card is authorized but not charged unless and until your application is accepted. If your application is declined, you will not be charged. If accepted, your ticket fee will be charged through Luma, and your spot is not confirmed until payment is successfully processed.

Accuracy of Information. You agree that the information in your application is accurate and current. We reserve the right to revoke acceptance or deny entry if we determine that application information was false, misleading, or incomplete.

Non-Transferable. Tickets are personal to the applicant who was accepted and may not be resold, transferred, or assigned to another person without our prior written consent.

REFUND POLICY

Ticket purchases are non-refundable. Because seats are limited and hand-selected through our application process, we do not offer refunds or exchanges once your ticket has been charged, including if you are unable to attend for any reason.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may, in our sole and absolute discretion, consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis. Requesting a refund does not guarantee one will be granted. To request consideration, contact us at the email addresses listed below.

If Created in LA cancels the Event entirely (as opposed to postponing or modifying it), you will receive a full refund of your ticket fee.

EVENT CHANGES, POSTPONEMENT, AND CANCELLATION

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to modify the Event’s schedule, speakers, venue, or format for any reason, including matters outside our control (see Force Majeure below) or at the direction of a venue partner such as Disney. We will make reasonable efforts to notify accepted attendees of material changes. Modifications to the Event (as opposed to a full cancellation by us) do not entitle you to a refund, though we may consider requests on a case-by-case basis as described above.

PROHIBITED CONDUCT

By applying for or attending the Event, you agree not to:

  • Use the Site or Event for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable law;
  • Provide false information in your application, including misrepresenting your identity, role, or audience;
  • Attempt to transfer, resell, or duplicate your ticket or credentials;
  • Bring a guest or unregistered individual to the Event without our prior authorization;
  • Violate any security, credentialing, or access requirements imposed by Created in LA, the El Capitan Theatre, or The Walt Disney Studios Lot, including ID checks for lot access;
  • Engage in disorderly, disruptive, harassing, or unsafe conduct toward other attendees, staff, speakers, or venue personnel;
  • Film or record in any backstage, press-only, or Disney-restricted area, or disclose any confidential or unreleased information observed at the Event, except as permitted under “Creator Content Capture” below;
  • Interfere with the operation of the Event, the Site, or another attendee’s enjoyment of either; or
  • Attempt to circumvent any security or access-control feature of the Site or Event.

We reserve the right to remove any attendee from the Event, without refund, for violating these Terms or for conduct we determine, in our sole discretion, is unsafe or inappropriate.

CREATOR CONTENT CAPTURE

Created in LA is a creator event, and we welcome attendees capturing and posting their own content from the Event — including vlogging, photos, and video for your own channels and social media — within reason. By doing so, you agree to:

  • Only film in general session, reception, and public Event areas — not backstage, in designated press/media-only zones, or in any area of The Walt Disney Studios Lot marked off-limits or restricted by Disney security;
  • Obtain the consent of any other attendee, speaker, or Disney/venue personnel before featuring them prominently in your content, and respect anyone who asks not to be filmed;
  • Not interfere with official Created in LA, Disney, or sponsor photography/videography, or with the Event’s schedule or programming;
  • Not disclose any confidential, unreleased, or trade-secret information you may become aware of at the Event (including anything related to unreleased Disney content, products, or plans), unless and until Created in LA or Disney has made it public; and
  • Comply with any additional content-capture guidelines communicated to you before or during the Event, including any specific restrictions Disney requires for Studios Lot access.

Content you capture and post remains yours, subject to the license you already grant us over Creator Video Submissions (if applicable) and any separate agreement between you and Created in LA or a sponsor regarding sponsored or paid content from the Event.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO, AND LIKENESS RELEASE

Created in LA is a filmed and photographed event, including a red carpet premiere at the El Capitan Theatre. By attending, you irrevocably grant Created in LA, Created Books LLC, its agents, successors, and partners (including Disney) a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable right to photograph, film, and record you while at the Event, and to use, reproduce, edit, distribute, publicly display, and otherwise exploit your image, voice, likeness, and appearance, in any medium now known or later developed, for any promotional or marketing purpose — including, without limitation, marketing this Event, marketing and advertising future Created in LA events, recap and archival content, social media, and press materials — without geographic limitation, time limitation, or compensation to you. You waive any right to inspect or approve such content before its use and any claims related to its use (including any rights of publicity or privacy, to the extent permitted by applicable law).

If you prefer not to be featured in future marketing use of Event content, contact us at the email addresses below and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request going forward, though we cannot guarantee removal from content already published, already in use, or in a partner’s possession, and this request will not affect any use that already occurred prior to your request.

CREATOR VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

If you are selected to have a video premiered at the Event, by submitting that video you represent that you own or control all necessary rights to it, and you grant Created in LA a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to publicly display, exhibit, and promote that video in connection with the Event (including the premiere itself, recap content, and related marketing), without additional compensation, unless otherwise agreed to in a separate written agreement between you and Created in LA.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE

Attendance at a large, in-person event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to crowded spaces, service of alcohol, travel to and between venues, and use of third-party venues we do not own or control (including The Walt Disney Studios Lot and the El Capitan Theatre). By attending, you knowingly and voluntarily assume these risks.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, discharge, and hold harmless Created in LA, Created Books LLC, our officers, employees, and agents, and our venue and sponsor partners (including Disney), from any and all claims, liabilities, injuries, losses, or damages arising out of or in connection with your attendance at or travel to the Event, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code § 1542, which provides: “A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him or her must have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.”

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Luma. Applications and ticket payments are processed by Luma, a third-party platform. Your use of Luma is subject to Luma’s own terms and privacy policy.

Disney and Event Sponsors. The Event is presented by Disney and is supported by sponsors, currently including YouTube, OpusClip, Later, Adobe, ManyChat, and .Store Domains. These partners may operate their own activations, forms, or access requirements at the Event (such as Disney’s Studios Lot security clearance process), which are governed by their own terms and policies, not ours. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or policies of Luma, Disney, or any Event sponsor.

Linked Sites. The Site may link to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any linked site.

OWNERSHIP; PROPRIETARY RIGHTS

The Site, the Created in LA name and branding, and all related content (excluding third-party trademarks and Creator Video Submissions, which remain owned by their respective owners) are owned by Created Books LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Created in LA content without our prior written consent.

FEEDBACK

If you provide us with feedback or suggestions about the Event or Site, you grant Created in LA an unrestricted, perpetual, royalty-free right to use that feedback for any purpose, without compensation or attribution to you.

INDEMNITIES

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Created in LA, Created Books LLC, and our respective officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your conduct at the Event; (c) any content you submit (including Creator Video Submissions); or (d) your violation of applicable law.

DISCLAIMERS; NO WARRANTIES

THE SITE AND EVENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE EVENT WILL PROCEED AS SCHEDULED, THAT ANY PARTICULAR SPEAKER OR CREATOR WILL APPEAR, OR THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) CREATED IN LA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR APPLICATION, TICKET PURCHASE, OR ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU ACTUALLY PAID FOR YOUR TICKET. IF YOUR JURISDICTION DOES NOT ALLOW THIS LIMITATION, IT DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU, AND ALL OTHER LIMITATIONS REMAIN IN FULL EFFECT.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND ARBITRATION

Agreement to Arbitrate. You and Created in LA agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Event will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court or seek injunctive relief in court to prevent misuse of intellectual property. YOU AND CREATED IN LA EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION.

Process. Arbitration will be administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules then in effect, and will take place in Los Angeles County, California (or, if you prefer, by phone or videoconference).

Opt-Out. You may opt out of this arbitration provision by sending written notice to the email address below within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the courts described under Governing Law below.

No Class Actions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, claims may only be brought in an individual capacity, not as part of a class, collective, or representative action.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. To the extent any dispute is not subject to arbitration, you and Created in LA agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

NO WAIVER

Our failure to enforce any right under these Terms does not waive that right. Any waiver must be in writing to be effective.

NOTICES

Notices to Created in LA should be sent to the contact information below. Notices to you will be sent to the email address provided in your application. Notice by email is deemed given 24 hours after sending, unless we’re notified the address is invalid.

FORCE MAJEURE

Created in LA will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, epidemic or pandemic, government action, venue unavailability (including unavailability of the El Capitan Theatre or The Walt Disney Studios Lot), civil unrest, or acts of terrorism (“Force Majeure Event”). In the event of a Force Majeure Event, we may postpone, modify, or cancel the Event as described above.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT; SEVERABILITY

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any on-site releases or waivers, represent the entire agreement between you and Created in LA regarding the Event and Site, and supersede any prior understandings. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

ASSIGNMENT; NO THIRD-PARTY BENEFICIARIES

You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms at our discretion. Nothing in these Terms creates rights for any third party, except that Disney and our named Event sponsors may rely on the releases and limitations of liability in these Terms as intended third-party beneficiaries of those specific provisions.
